Spring Prayer Requests

April 4th, 2007by Tara

Life is pretty simple and straightforward right now: keep our hearts warm towards God, love one another, take care of the kids. So that pretty much sums up our prayer requests! :)

But to be a little more specific…

DSC01173.JPGGAVIN is working hard juggling family, mentoring responsibilities and his maintenance job. Please pray that he will be a channel of God’s love and deep heart work in the men he is mentoring. And of course, for plenty of refreshing sleep!

TARA is in full time mommy mode now. Please pray for health, joy and plenty of milk for the boys and grace with Eden. She’s a little apprehensive about what life will be like in May once all the help runs out, so pray for peace, hope and confidence in God’s all sufficient grace.
Proud Big Sister.JPGEDEN is adjusting to a major life change (not one, but TWO ‘little brudders’). Please pray that her heart and mind will settle down, she will have peace and joy in every day.

JETHRO is doing great. A hearty eater and wonderful sleeper — praise God for his life and the plans laid out for him. Pray he will grow in grace and already be a means of God’s healing power in the lives of all the people we meet.

!Say What~.JPGJUDAH is also doing wonderfully. A laid back little guy; he’s in no particular rush at all. Praise God for his life and growth. Pray that he will get all the nutrition and sleep he needs. Pray also that he will be a means of blessing to all.

THANK YOU for praying for us! We couldn’t do this without you!

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12.4-5)

Fall Prayer Requests

October 12th, 2006by Gavin & Tara

It’s been too long since we’ve updated this corner of our website. On internship we had the luxury of more time and a sense of urgency surrounding our daily lives. Being displaced from “home” makes you aware of your needs.

But here we are, graduated, choosing to live in the midwest of America, giving ourselves to a rather unglamourous, easily misunderstood, humble service. We know we are exactly where God has led us so we will stay until He leads us on. Thank you dear one, for journeying with us this far and caring enough to come to this page.

DSC06149.JPG GAVIN is mentoring the married men at Bethany College. This role requires alot of humility and wisdom. He cares for Eden in the morning then works in Services (for pay! Praise the Lord!) in the afternoons. Please pray for these roles, that He would walk in the Spirit and let the life of Christ flow through him.

DSC06171.JPG TARA is mentoring, albeit to the married women. She is volunteering her mornings in the Admissions department of Bethany College. This is an exciting time in her life as many of her passions and talents have creative outlet in a ministry she supports wholeheartedly. Baby is due in April, so her energy is good, hair glossy and nails strong:) Pray for love, humility and wisdom as she walks the path before her.

DSC06232.JPG EDEN is 20 months old now, her vocabulary taking leaps and bounds. She loves feeding herself, putting on everyone’s shoes, playing with other kids, and dancing to music. Her life is one of simple pleasures, many kisses from mommy and daddy, discovering creation, and learning new things everyday. Pray for her to grow in grace with God and man, that she would be a vessel of God’s love and truth even at this young age.

May Prayer Requests

April 29th, 2006by Gavin & Tara

This is it! The last week of internship! Life is about to take some significant upheavals as we travel this month to London, Ottawa then Minneapolis. Your prayers for our safety and some of the following specifics are truly appreciated. We could not do this alone.

DSC04600.JPGFor Gavin: There are many changes ahead, many things out of my control, many things that are needed that I cannot personally provide.  I need more of His wisdom and grace in this month for. Please pray that I would continue to trust and seek the Lord in all things.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

~ Proverbs 3.5-6

DSC04652.JPGFor Tara: God’s promise to me for this time of upheaval and transition came through the tender song ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ beautifully redone by Johnny Cash and Fiona Apple. He will lay Himself down, like a bridge over troubled water, and make a way for me to pass through these turbulent waters of change. I have peace that surpasses understanding because He is my Source, my Hope, my All.
So if you pray anything for me, pray that I will simply rest in Who He is. That I will surrender all my fear so I might fully embrace Him Who carries me.

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.

My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

Psalm 63.7-8

P1000290.JPGFor Eden: We’ll try to keep things ‘normal’ for as long as we can, but the day will come when we leave and much will change. God’s grace has been upon Eden from the moment she sparkled into existence and will go with her every moment of her life. Thank you for praying specifically for her as the Holy Spirit leads you.
