September 16th, 2005by Gavin & TaraFinally, after one week in Spain I have a moment to journal! So much I could say, but let me start by saying that all is well. All three of us are healthy, well rested, well fed and no intestinal problems! Yay! Jim and Martha Towner (and their three lovely children; Ruthie 14, Ann Caroline 10, Johnny 6) have made us feel SO welcome. Our 4 bedroom apartment was already set up with basics (beds, towels and toilet paper!) when we arrived and we have figured out how to get by with a pretty simple life (no fridge, no furniture beyond beds, a table with 2 chairs and a van seat which doubles as a baby change station)
The VISA’s got granted at the very last minute (God?)….then it sinks in….ummmm we’re ACTUALLY GOING TO SPAIN!!?? The last month has been a tightwire walk of faith not knowing when things would fall into place (and how much money we’d have to waste if they didn’t!). Now we are breathing sighs of relief and staring at eachother in amazement. Tummies a little in knots as the funnel effect began in earnest (details details details + family family family). It’s all good though eh? It’s all gonna be just fine….deep breath and ‘trust the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; seek His will in all you do and He will make straight your paths’ (a favorite proverb 3. 5-6).
